For him, the journey isn't just a backdrop; it structures everything. There is a permanent tension between anchoring and movement, between heritage and projection.

And that is exactly what runs through his music. You can feel multiple influences, whether from the veterans of French rap or from across the Atlantic, notably in productions that might remind you of Young Slo Be or other artists from Stockton.
His tracks leave room to breathe, sometimes almost too much for a first listen. But it's intentional. The often minimalist productions act as open frames. And inside, his voice lays down the lines. Deep and controlled, it imposes a style entirely his own.
With "Tribulation", he had already laid a solid foundation. Something still instinctive, but already inhabited.

Ses morceaux laissent de l'air, parfois même trop pour une première écoute. Mais c'est volontaire. Les prods souvent minimalistes agissent comme des cadres ouverts. Et à l'intérieur, sa voix vient poser les lignes. Grave et maîtrisée, elle impose un style qui lui est propre.
Avec "Tribulation", il posait déjà une première pierre solide. Quelque chose d'encore instinctif, mais déjà habité.

After several singles and a striking collaboration on "CAPITALISTE" by SKEFRE, he released his second project at the end of 2025.
Here, IGO is no longer just testing the waters; he is asserting himself. He enters his own territory with more confidence, and more control too. The writing remains true to what he has established: direct, without unnecessary filters, capable of shifting from a sharp phase to a more introspective line without warning.
Only one feature on the project: SCH, no less. Here again, IGO stays true to himself: a single feature, with one of the biggest French rappers, to lay down solid foundations. The productions—mostly by VHS, and Zeg P on the SCH feature—extend this logic: few elements, but exactly what is needed to accompany a voice that takes up space.

Là, IGO ne teste plus vraiment, il affirme. Il entre dans son propre terrain avec plus d'assurance, plus de contrôle aussi. L'écriture reste fidèle à ce qu'il a installé directe, sans filtre inutile, capable de basculer d'une phase tranchante à une ligne plus introspective sans prévenir.
Seulement un feat sur le projet: SCH, rien que ça. Là aussi, IGO reste fidèle à lui-même, un seul feat, avec un des plus gros rappeurs français, pour poser des bases solides. Les productions signées, pour la plupart, par VHS et Zeg P sur le feat avec SCH prolongent cette logique: peu d'éléments, mais ce qu'il faut pour accompagner sa voix qui prend de la place.
Des basses profondes et des textures sèches dans lesquelles IGO navigue avec une liberté remarquable. Il découpe, ralentit, accélère.

So yes, sometimes, we might almost want him to push certain variations even further, to step even more outside the frame he already masters so well. But that's a detail in a whole that stands firmly on its feet and, above all, continues to evolve.
Alors oui, parfois, on aimerait presque qu'il pousse encore plus loin certaines variations, qu'il sorte encore davantage du cadre qu'il maîtrise déjà très bien. Mais c'est un détail dans un ensemble qui tient largement debout et surtout, qui continue d'évoluer.

Because deep down, that's what it is: IGO is building. And it shows. Project after project, he refines without losing what makes him unique. No opportunistic shifts, no obvious compromises. Just steady progression, and a confidence that runs through his music.
We had the chance to see some of these fragments up close. A few close members of the media, including myself, were present during a recent confidential video shoot for an upcoming release. To witness moments where everything falls into place. And what stands out is a simple certainty: something is happening.
Parce que c'est ça, au fond: IGO est en train de construire. Et ça se voit. Projet après projet, il affine sans perdre ce qui fait sa singularité. Pas de virage opportuniste, pas de compromis évident. Juste une progression constante, et une confiance qui traverse sa musique.
On a eu la chance d'en voir quelques fragments de près. Plusieurs proches du média, dont moi, étions d'ailleurs présents lors d'un récent tournage confidentiel. D'assister à des moments où tout se met en place. Et ce qui ressort, c'est une certitude simple: il se passe quelque chose.
